Fatema Builders Limited, based in Aftabnagar, Rampura, Dhaka, says it has been operating in the real estate sector for the past four years, earning the trust and confidence of its clients through its property-related services.
The company claims that it owns land, plots and residential properties and has maintained a record of handing over properties to customers within the agreed timeframes.
However, the company has alleged that S Islam Dream Real Estate Limited has been spreading misleading information about it, damaging its reputation and creating difficulties for its business operations.
According to representatives of Fatema Builders Limited, a dispute has emerged between the two companies over a financial transaction involving Tk 4.73 crore. Fatema Builders claims that its Chairman, Shafiqul Islam, also known as Shafik, paid the amount to S Islam Dream Real Estate Limited in connection with an agreement to receive plots of land.
The company says the payment was made through cheques and that it possesses supporting documents, including relevant cheque and stamp-related records. It further alleges that the promised plots have not been handed over despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter.
Fatema Builders representatives claim that, instead of resolving the dispute, S Islam Dream Real Estate Limited has circulated allegations against their company, causing reputational damage and harassment.
The company also questioned the business operations of S Islam Dream Real Estate Limited in Aftabnagar, claiming that the latter does not own any land or plots in the area.
Regarding the company's former office at 152 Meradia, Khilgaon, Dhaka-1219, Fatema Builders representatives alleged that the landlord removed the company from the premises after it failed to pay the monthly rent of Tk 46,000 in accordance with the rental agreement. They also claimed that a notice was subsequently displayed at the premises.
Fatema Builders Limited has several proprietors, including Shamsul Haque, who serves as its Chairman and Managing Director, and Idris Alam Sardar, according to the company.
Meanwhile, some alleged clients of S Islam Dream Real Estate Limited have also raised complaints regarding delays in receiving their promised plots and recovering their investments. Some of them alleged that they had been visiting different offices seeking the return of their hard-earned money.
The complainants have also made allegations against the company's Chairman, Shafiqul Islam (Shafik), over financial transactions involving substantial sums of money. These claims could not be independently verified.
Fatema Builders Limited further stated that complaints had been lodged with Badda Police Station in connection with the dispute.
The company says it has documentary evidence supporting its financial claims and is seeking an appropriate resolution.
The allegations against S Islam Dream Real Estate Limited and its chairman require independent verification. Their response was not included in the information provided for this report.
